HELP WANTED - Posted 03/18/2006
Position: Writer / Reporter
Grants Pass Climate.com, a local news web site, is now accepting applications for a writer / reporter. We are seeking a self-motivated, creative person to join our team. Journalism experience is preferred, but not required. Strong writing skills and ability to meet deadlines are vital. The position is contractor / freelance and will be paid on a per-story basis.
This position will be responsible for a minimum of one story per week. More than one story per week may occasionally be possible (by mutual agreement). This position is currently open and will be filled as soon as possible.
Choice of assignments will be mostly self-determined (subject to our approval) and will include coverage of:
City of Grants Pass
Josephine County
Grants Pass Department of Public Safety
Josephine County Sheriff's Office
Grants Pass School District No. 7
Three Rivers School District
Josephine County Library District (if created)
Grants Pass and Josephine County in general (news, business, events, etc.)

Applications are being accepted via email only. Include your qualifications and at least one sample of a story you have written. Resumes are not required but may be included, if desired. Please include beats that are your particular areas of interest.

Corrections Policy
We strongly support accuracy by aggressively and openly correcting our
factual errors in reporting.
Whenever a correction is required, we will post the correction as a new
item. We will also correct the original item and link the original item to the
correction. This procedure will insure that archived stories are factual and
that corrections are clearly documented for future reference.
We encourage readers to inform us whenever a correction is required.
