Caveman pool is out of circulation
Failure of main pump closes pool for up to four weeks

GRANTS PASS, OR - The Caveman Pool will be out of circulation for a while. The main pump is in need of repair.
According to Martin Seybold, Director of Field Operations for the City of Grants Pass, the existing pump is no longer able to circulate water in the pool. Seybold says that spare parts are available, but repairs cannot be completed because the pump is corroded and cannot be opened.
The City has closed the pool until the pump has been repaired or replaced. Seybold says that if the pump cannot be repaired, the cost of replacing the pump is about $9,000.
Seybold estimates that the pool may be closed three to four weeks.
Caveman Pool is located across from the high school at 801 NE 9th Street.
