Public invited to comment at meeting on Redwood Area growth
City Council and UAPC to hold workshop meeting on Wednesday

By TIM BURLESON

GRANTS PASS, OR - Do you have something to say about growth issues in the Redwood Area? This is your chance to address both the City Council and the Urban Area Planning Commission (UAPC).

The Grants Pass City Council and the UAPC will be holding a joint workshop meeting Wednesday, July 19, 5:30-8:00pm, to discuss growth issues in the Redwood Area. The public is invited to attend. Public comment will be allowed at the meeting.

This is the second workshop meeting of the Council and the UAPC to discuss growth in the Redwood Area following the UAPC's recent denial of two subdivision applications. A 110-lot subdivision (Summerfield Estates) and a 12-lot subdivision (Prairie Glen II) were both denied by the UAPC for failing intersections in the Redwood Area. An intersection fails when one or more traffic movements in the intersection fail to meet Level Of Service (LOS) of D. The intersections with movements rated at LOS F are Allen Creek Road at Redwood Avenue, Dowell Road at Redwood Avenue and Hubbard Lane at Redwood Highway.

The special workshop meeting will be in the Council Chambers at 101 NW "A" Street. The regular City Council meeting be held at 8:00pm immediately following the special workshop meeting.
